ISE team discusses cooperation opportunities with colleagues from Poland

On June 1, 2012 the Institute of Sustainable Education (ISE) welcomed colleagues from Kujawu and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz (Poland) who came to Daugavpils University Faculty of Education and Management within an ERASMUS LLP visit. Doc. Dr Igor Taranov, Dr Katarzyna Marszałek, Dr Grażyna Szabelska, Dr Tadeusz Sypniewski, Mgr Natalia Dyczkowska-Każuro and Dr Marek Żmuda together with the staff team of ISE talked about common research interests and intentions for writing joint publications, explored opportunities to implement cooperation projects, organize student and staff motilities, and in future establish a joint degree study programme in education. Likewise, the discussion featured such issues as European Qualifications Framework for the European Higher Education Area and quality evaluation of higher education which now occupy a prominent space in the educational policy discourses across Europe. The visitors received a cordial welcome and were invited to join in the Baltic and Black sea Circle Consortium for educational research and attend the next JTEFS/BBCC conference which is to be held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in May 2013. In return, an invitation was extended to the representatives of ISE to attend the International week at the Kujawu and Pomorze University in October. The visit concluded with a reiteration of hopes on both sides for making use of the identified possibilities for further cooperation.
